While I love to put together an all black outfit as much as the next hipster/artist/lazy person, there's a certain je ne sais quoi attached to being able to pull off a uni-colored look, whatever colour it might be. One way to liven it up is by wearing different textures. Leather, wool, neoprene, lace, mesh and linen are interesting and versatile. The construction of the garment itself can make an otherwise mediocre look really pop-pleats, collars, hoods, pockets and cutouts are a bonus, too, if you want to steer clear of the black jeans + black tee+ black converse look I've been seeing so much in Melbourne. That being said, having a uniform that involves staples, like Mark Zuckerber or Steve Jobs do have their benefits- you are said to be able to concentrate more on the important things in life. So just proclaim fashion your life and you'll never need to explain your style again.
