This shoot was actually a sort of funeral for the polka dot dress. My mom had made it for me some years ago, and though I'd always considered it special, it had never really fit me right. I went to iron it one day to try again, and I realized the spots were running. Knowing the dress was on it's last legs, I quickly threw together a few other outfits and my mom's old saddle shoes and scheduled the rockabilly-themed shoot really last minute. Clara, Grace and I spent almost a whole day capturing these images, which in the end involved some illicit shooting in an old movie theater, digging up a vintage coke bottle from my basement, hunting down balloons, and a drinking a large root beer float. It was pretty much just luck that it turned out as well as it did. Mostly we were all just having a lot of fun -Kayt Silvers
