New Stores in Melbourne: COS

The wait is over! COS, which stands for Collection of Style, has opened in the Strand, Melbourne today at noon. I had to check it out and since I've been to COS stores in Berlin and London before, I was curious to see if the prices and the experience were the same- which, surprisingly, they were. The style of the clothing is comparable to ACNE, (the ACNE store is literally next door, too) but at a Zara price point.

The minimalistic layout and the simplicity of the clothing, the lack of obvious branding, and how well clothing lasts from experience makes it worth a visit/shop. I've taken friends to the London store for 'personal shopping' and they loved it- I am sure you, will, too.

Alexander Wang for H&M- most wearable pieces

Ever since the collaboration had been announced at Coachella, fashion savvy girls and boys that like Alexander Wang but can't afford the designer's main line have been impatiently waiting for this collection. However, only few pieces aren't covered in 'WANG' prints, and I am someone who avoids brand logos and all over prints on clothes at all costs. I don't mind H&M, yet I prefer not to look like I'm wearing it- even if that makes me a snob. Never be stuck in a blizzard with this coat again. It has enough pockets for everything you need (iPhone, gum, Kookie, portable battery to recharge the phone and some skis). My favourite piece is the bandage dress worn by Isabeli Fontana, which is the perfect sporty, sexy look Alexander Wang stands for. If that's a yoga mat tho- so chic, and I need it. The full collection will be instore Novembr 6th. H&M can be found on corner  Elizabeth and Bourke Street in Melbourne.

Minimalist Fashion: Bassike opens in Melbourne CBD

Sydney label Bassike has just opened a new store in the Melbourne CBD, which can be found on number 1 Rankins Lane. The brand philosophy is to design everyday pieces that work as well with a pair of flip-flops (or Birkenstocks) as in a structured wardrobeMy favourite looks from their Spring/Summer 2014 collection:
